Deltarune features branching routes that lead to significantly different scenes, dialogue, and outcomes. Understanding which routes are covered is important for knowing what content the dataset actually includes.

Deltarune’s route structure

Deltarune has three main route types across its released chapters:
  • Normal Route — The standard playthrough path, available in all chapters.
  • Snowgrave Route / Weird Route — An alternate dark path available in Chapters 2 and 4, involving different choices and substantially different content.
  • Sword Route — An alternate path in Chapter 3 with different scenes and outcomes.

Chapter 3 Sword Route

Chapter 3 is the only chapter in this dataset with alternate route content included. The Sword Route — which involves different story beats and scenes compared to the Normal Route — is fully transcribed alongside the Normal Route content. This makes Chapter 3 the most complete chapter in the dataset from a route coverage perspective.

Missing: Snowgrave/Weird Route

The Snowgrave Route (Chapters 2 and 4) is entirely absent from this dataset. No Snowgrave/Weird Route dialogue, scenes, or content of any kind is included.
The Snowgrave Route represents a distinct and substantial alternate playthrough. If you are training a model or building a system that needs to handle Snowgrave Route content — such as understanding specific character behavior, alternate dialogue, or route-specific plot points — this dataset will not cover those cases.

Implications for model training

If you are using this dataset for model training or retrieval, keep the following in mind:
  • Normal Route only users: Chapters 1–4 Normal Route content is fully covered (with Chapter 4 at Beta quality).
  • Completionist/all-routes users: Chapter 3 Sword Route is included, but Snowgrave Route content for Chapters 2 and 4 is missing. A model trained on this dataset will not be able to reliably answer questions about Snowgrave Route events.
  • Chapter-specific filtering: Because each chapter is a separate file, you can load only the chapters whose coverage meets your requirements.
